Christmas Drinks at Forgotten Tonic

There has been much to celebrate these past few weeks as I turned 30, Gigi had a birthday, and Miss Magnolia is now a whopping nine months old! How?!

We figured there was no better way to celebrate than a night on the town!

If you’re familiar with St. Augustine, Florida during this time of year, you know… tis the season. The season of Nights of Lights! Downtown St. Augustine is buzzing (or jingling?) with Christmas carolers, festive trolley riders, and every tree/light pole in sight is wrapped with twinkling lights. It’s the epitome of Christmas magic.

With this in mind we decided to make a reservation to experience “Miracle at Forgotten Tonic”.

Miracle at Forgotten Tonic in St. Augustine, Florida.

Forgotten Tonic is a favorite restaurant of ours and with a seasonal menu featuring Christmas themed cocktails we just had to check it out!

I opted for the Christmapolitan which featured the delicious flavors of spiced cranberry. I like to think this would be the signature drink of a sophisticated Mrs. Claus. Light, refreshing, and garnished with a sprig of rosemary. I’d like another, please!

While I thoroughly enjoyed my seasonal spirits, Gigi (who admittedly is a creature of habit) stuck with her favorite non-seasonal drink called… “I Can’t Even”.

And I can’t even blame her. I don’t think I’ve ever tried such a uniquely delicious drink before! All I can say is it consists of cimarron blanco tequila and mezcal with some fruity touches of lime, strawberry, and grapefruit, and we both love it. The word we kept using to describe this drink is “smokey”.

Because this blog is called “Shots” of Jamison we decided we had to wrap the night up with a naughty and nice shot. Both were undeniably delicious, however we agreed the nice shot was our favorite. Probably because we’re always on Santa’s Nice List!

While Gigi and I were taking our drink sampling very seriously, Magnolia and Poppe were waving and making friends with everyone who would wave back. Near the end of our meal our lovely server brought us a “Happy Birthday” slice of what I believe was their Chocolate Hazelnut Tort. Poppe snuck a few bites to Magnolia and she was in heaven!

What a wonderful way to spend our birthdays together and in such a fun environment!

cheers,

Jamison

hey friend!

I’m so happy you found your way to my little corner of the internet!

My name is Jamison and I am a twenty-something (not for long) from St. Augustine, Florida.

You might find my blog interesting if you’re a working mom, a single mom, or just a gal who appreciates realism and no judgement for pouring a drink before 5pm.

Flaming Hot Mamarita Shots

Basically a fancied-up margarita shot for special occasions or just because you enjoy being extra like I do. I’m thinking girl’s night, Cinco de Mayo, or just because it’s Friday? Let’s get to it. What you’ll need… MIX:– 3 oz tequila– 2 oz triple sec–…
